Welcome to Redeemer Lutheran Church, located in Queens Village, New York!
Redeemer Lutheran Church and Nursery School is one of the most diverse congregations in the United States today. While we uphold the uniqueness of each person, honoring the gifts God has given to each individual, we also uphold the commonality of humanity, for we are all children of God. We are a congregration in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a member of the Metropolitan New York Synod. We are also in partnership with Saint Peters Church in Manhattan and the Lilly Fellowship, a foundation that supports churches with young clergy from many Christian denominations (currently, we are working directly with Episcopalian, Lutheran, and Presbyterian pastors and lay leaders through the Lilly Fellowship). While the big city of New York looms at our doorstep, we remain committed to be that local, neighborhood church that brings the element of family to our ministry.
We strive to be God's hands, called by God to deliver God's message of love to all, strengthened by Jesus Christ through worship and practice, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to boldly go forth in the world. Some of us here have been members all our lives; others are first generation immigrants to this country. Individual family roots extend back to Northern Europe, Africa, and the West Indies (including Guyana, Trinidad, and Haiti). Yet, as children of God, we are all sisters and brothers, living out the hope that God instills in each of us during this time of uncertainty and we share this hope with all.
Come, join us for worship, for you are most welcomed just as you are. Sundays: Sunday School: 9 - 10 am Worship: 10:30 am - 12 noon Fellowship Hour: 12 noon - 1 pm
As a church, we have a lot to offer. We gladly serve the community by offering daycare for children 3 to 4 years of age through UPK and also private pay. Currently, there are still spots open and we encourage you to take a tour of our school. We also sponsor Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 158. We host Alcoholic's Anonymous Monday through Thursday evenings (please call for specific times and more information) and the Queens Village Friendship Club (which meets on Thursdays). On Sundays, we also share our worship space with Hope Evangelical Korean Church and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. We are actively engaged in our community!
